DUKE'S BOOTS CARE GUIDE
Your Duke's Boots are designed to last. We choose environmentally conscious vegetable-tanned and chrome-free leathers that age with beauty. Each piece of leather may have variations in colour, minor marks and veins; these are natural characteristics of leather and make each piece unique.
1. CLEAN YOUR COWBOY BOOTS
Boots are easy to clean, just remove the dirt or dust with a soft brush. Alternatively, you could remove dirt with a damp cloth or sponge. Always test a small area to make sure no damage will occur, before applying a cleaner with a cloth. Always allow your boots to dry naturally; do not dry them near heat or direct sunlight to avoid fading.
2. CONDITION YOUR COWBOY BOOTS
Condition your boots when they are clean. First, apply the leather conditioner with a cloth. Then, apply the conditioner with a brush to work the excess into the leather. All-purpose conditioner is important; it helps to keep the boots clean and maintain the suppleness of the leather. Conditioner also helps prevent scuffs, scratches, and dry spots. A good leather conditioner will work on all boots without darkening them.
3. APPLY SUEDE PROTECTOR
The first port of call to protect your suede goods is to regularly spray them with a suede protector. This will keep the suede protected and helps to protect against water. Any mud or marks that get on to your suede boots should be left to dry and then brushed with a suede brush.
A suede brush will hugely help with the care of your boots. It can be used to buff out any scuffs or marks and also maintains the look of your boots by lifting the nap of the suede.
4. USE BOOT SHAPERS
Store your shoes with boot shapers. Boot shapers hold the boot upright and help prevent cracking and creasing of the leather. If you don't have any to hand, a couple of rolled up Vogues will do the job.
